The Rolls Royce Silver Shadow uses dual two piston calipers on the front rotors that are driven off two hydraulic pumps on the engine. That means there is eight brake pads to replace in the front. When replacing them it is a good idea to also replace the pins, clips and springs.

The brake reservoir was just full of crud and the sight glasses had not been usable since I have owned the car. Time to clean it out and put new gaskets in the sights. Inside the reservoir for this car there is three filters and two floats.

After sitting for 30 years this car is running again and now moving under its own power. A new spring was needed for the distributor cap but no other new parts. The car goes through all the gears fine and luckily the interior was kept out of the car and in a basement for those 30 years of slumber.

The valve covers were very dirty and showed signs of someone touching them up in the past. A quick trip to sandblaster will clean them up.

The car runs great, after connecting the spark plugs in the correct order the Weber carb fired the engine right up. More trim needs to be installed, the wiring looked over, and a few small items still need to be taken care of but this car is finally nearing the finish line.

There were a few things that had been forgotten or had to be replaced after the car was painted. A lot of work has been put off because these few items were missing. Now all the lights can be installed, the ignition coil, and the bonnet latch. The car can finally be started up.
