The old Solex has finally run out its life. A new Weber has taken its place atop the same manifold.

The right headlight door fell off on the highway and scuffed the paint up, I also cleaned up the battery compartment and put on a new terminal.

Clearcoated with new tires. The wheel nuts will get the same treatment.

Now the silver paint before the clear coat.

The old wheels have been sandblasted and are now in primer.

The wheels have been primed and painted white. Four new Sumitomo HTR 200 175/70R13s from the TireRack have been mounted.

Both sides of the wheels have been sand blasted.

This is the third 1967 Sunbeam Alpine in the shop.

All of the rusted metal parts have been cut out so new sheet metal and panels can be welded in.

Still sandblasting the car when the weather is nice enough and sandblasting and powdercoating the small parts the rest of the time.

With most of the paint stripped off you can start to see what has been done to the car over the years. Also of the major rust has been cut off the car. This car has had the front half of the front right fender replaced at sometime early in its life. The right rear fender was completely covered in a thin layer of body filler.

Finally the car is on the rotisseri! We rolled it outside to try to powerwash as much grease and gunk off the car as possible before stripping and media blasting.

Windscreen and dashboard are removed. Also the steering column and convertible top frame were removed.

Engine and transmission are out, don’t try taking them both out attached together, I don’t think that is the way it was supposed to happen.
Engine’s out, all that is left is the grill, steering box, and some wiring.
Nothing left but the dash and windshield.

Finally on the lift, the last step before making it to the rotisserie. Also a future project is reunited with the Alpine after being apart for a couple weeks.
