This is the Tiger. It took four weeks to get here so now that the snow is on the ground we won’t be finding what problems it has that could be fixed this winter.

With most of the paint stripped off you can start to see what has been done to the car over the years. Also of the major rust has been cut off the car. This car has had the front half of the front right fender replaced at sometime early in its life. The right rear fender was completely covered in a thin layer of body filler.

Finally the car is on the rotisseri! We rolled it outside to try to powerwash as much grease and gunk off the car as possible before stripping and media blasting.

Windscreen and dashboard are removed. Also the steering column and convertible top frame were removed.

Engine and transmission are out, don’t try taking them both out attached together, I don’t think that is the way it was supposed to happen.
Engine’s out, all that is left is the grill, steering box, and some wiring.
Nothing left but the dash and windshield.

Finally on the lift, the last step before making it to the rotisserie. Also a future project is reunited with the Alpine after being apart for a couple weeks.

Gas tanks, trunk lid and other rear parts have all been removed. The bumper is stubborn and does not want to come off. The reverse lights are still there holding it up.
Many engine parts are coming off.

Seats, carpet, center console, ash tray, door panels, etc. have been removed making the car look like progress is actually being made.

Finally it is time to get it into the shop and get started.
A not so nice surprise behind the headlight.
The tear down is going well for the first day.
Still an engine compartment full of parts.

Here are the long awaited final pictures.

Finished. The car has been cleaned up externally and on the interior. The missing carpet has been replaced and the paint has been touched up.
The top half of the engine has been rebuilt. Most items have been sandblasted and powder coated. The engine compartment has been repainted where possible.

Reassembly. New headlights are going in. The intake manifold and water pump are back on.

The head has been machined and the intake manifold has been sandblasted and coated with a clear powdercoat.
Everything else has been sandblasted and either powdercoated when possible or painted.
The generator was cleaned with the wire wheel and painted.

More tear down. In the lower picture you can see the box for the heater core with the core removed.

Time for the engine tear down. The exhaust manifold got coated with high temp paint.
